Nickel plating (Ni)

Nickel coatings are used for decorative purposes and as a corrosion protection because nickel acts as a passive metal in many environments. Due to the increased corrosion protection we use a so-called duplex nickel. First, a layer of semi-gloss nickel is deposited, which is the main corrosion protection. The semi-gloss nickel is then precipitated with a high gloss nickel coating. It is possible to nickel plate large objects on the rack line and small objects on the barrel line.

Semi-gloss nickel

It is intended primarily for the application of duplex nickel coatings to objects subject to particularly harsh corrosion conditions. 2/3 to 3/4 of the total thickness of the nickel coating is semi-gloss nickel, the rest is gloss nickel. maximum dimensions of the item:

  • length: 2.200 mm
  • height: 900 mm
  • width: 450 mm

Glossy nickel

Glossy nickel coatings feature high gloss and good surface alignment even at low coating thickness, so no subsequent polishing is required. Excellent coating for decorative purposes and a chrome base in the decorative chrome plating process.

maximum dimensions of the item:

  • length: 2.200 mm
  • height: 900 mm
  • width: 450 mm

Base material: steel, copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel

Nickel-plating of small objects

On the semi-automatic barrel line, we nickel plate tiny objects in shiny nickel formulated specifically for use in barrels. The polished nickel in barrels allows to be applied even at low nickel thickness.

The electrolyte is characterized by excellent depth coverage of the surface of the object as well as perfect adhesion, without peeling and separating the nickel from the base material.
